Unpacking is a game that is giving us glimpses of a person by taking note of their accumulation and retention of goods throughout the first half of their life. You can exit out of each Chapter as soon as the trophy(ies) unlock so don't worry about have to save anything. They start off light and progressively get more in depth but you shouldnt really have any issues figuring out where any of the items go. For this step, it's highly recommended you don't reset your progress so you can easily find the items you need to interact with. You have the option to completely reset each individual Chapter or just jump back in to the finished room. You can go for the miscellaneous trophies in this step as well (see Step 2) but for the most part, you'll just be wanting to complete each Chapter. This is clearly a game made best for PC as your basic interaction involves pointing and clicking a cursor to move around objects. There’s no dialogue, very little text, and no visible characters. Unpacking runs totally fine, but the problem is one of control. None of the rooms are terribly difficult so you can expect a relaxing time while you play through the game. Unpacking’s greatest achievement is that it tells a story without any of the tools we’d usually consider essential. From leaving the college, to moving in with her partner, to moving back home, you get to visually see how much her life alters while going from very little possessions, to far more high quality possessions that easily fill the biggest house she's lived in. Unpacking is an easy-going puzzle-esque game that follows the main character as she goes through real life changes, stories told in the form of moving into (and out) of eight different houses.
